WITHIN THESE WALLS

Cinemavixion Review

Anne De Léan's "Within These Walls" plunges viewers into a palpable atmosphere of domestic dread. The film masterfully chronicles the unsettling descent of Mel, portrayed with compelling vulnerability by Jen Landon, as her life unravels after a contentious breakup. What begins as a personal crisis soon morphs into a terrifying ordeal as unseen forces invade her sanctuary, turning her home into a prison of psychological torment. The tension is expertly crafted, relying on suspense and subtle disturbances rather than overt scares, making the encroaching danger feel all the more insidious. Joshua Close and Tara Redmond van Rees provide solid support, but it is Landon's raw performance that anchors the narrative's emotional core. "Within These Walls" is a taut thriller that explores the fragility of safety and the deep-seated fear of the unknown within the confines of one's own home.
