WILD BILL

Cinemavixion Review

Dexter Fletcher's "Wild Bill" presents a raw and unflinching look at a father's reluctant return to responsibility. Charlie Creed-Miles delivers a compelling performance as Bill, a parolee thrust back into the lives of his two sons, abandoned and left to fend for themselves. The film masterfully navigates the complexities of fractured family dynamics, portraying Bill's initial detachment and his gradual, albeit messy, re-engagement with his paternal role. Fletcher, drawing from a script co-written by himself and Danny King, avoids easy sentimentality, opting instead for gritty realism that is both heartbreaking and, at times, darkly humorous. The supporting cast, particularly Will Poulter as the elder son, provides strong anchors to Bill's turbulent journey. With critical acclaim, including a strong showing on Rotten Tomatoes, "Wild Bill" stands as a poignant exploration of second chances and the enduring, often challenging, nature of family ties.
