Cinemavixion Review

Marty Stouffer's "Wild America: Year of the Mustang" offers a compelling narrative centered on the enduring spirit of the Mustang horse in the American landscape. The documentary traces the lineage of these magnificent creatures from their reintroduction by Spanish explorers to their integral role in Native American culture. The film's focus on Raven, a Mustang stallion, as he navigates the challenges of survival in the Arrowhead Mountains provides a dramatic throughline. Stouffer, who also appears to be the primary voice and presence in the film, crafts a story that highlights the resilience and wild beauty of these iconic animals, underscoring their historical significance and their connection to the land.
