THE OUTDOORSMAN

Cinemavixion Review

David Haskell's "The Outdoorsman" presents a charming, albeit familiar, romantic comedy premise centered on the unlikely pairing of an aspiring wilderness enthusiast and a burnt-out corporate professional. Brent Morin stars as Jason, a man whose romanticized vision of a year-long wilderness retreat is hilariously undermined by his complete lack of camping experience. His journey of self-discovery takes an unexpected turn when he meets Mona, played by Sasheer Zamata, a career-driven individual reeling from a professional breakdown. The narrative effectively explores the burgeoning romance between these two disparate personalities, forcing Jason to confront a pivotal choice between his lifelong dream and the burgeoning love he finds with Mona. While the film may tread familiar comedic ground, the chemistry between the leads and the lighthearted execution make "The Outdoorsman" a pleasant watch for those seeking a feel-good romantic comedy.
