THE OUTDOORSMAN

Cinemavixion Review

David Haskell's "The Outdoorsman" offers a charming, albeit familiar, romantic comedy premise, anchored by a solid performance from Brent Morin. Morin plays Jason, a man with an ambitious dream of escaping the urban grind for a year of wilderness living, a notion hilariously undermined by his complete lack of outdoor experience. His journey takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Mona, portrayed by Sasheer Zamata, a career-focused individual reeling from a professional burnout. The film deftly navigates the burgeoning romance between these two contrasting personalities, exploring the universal theme of choosing between personal aspirations and the pull of love. While the narrative treads well-worn ground, the chemistry between the leads and the comedic potential of Jason's ill-prepared adventure provide ample entertainment. "The Outdoorsman" is a lighthearted exploration of self-discovery and connection, proving that sometimes the greatest adventures are found closer to home.
