THE MISSING HISTORY OF ABORIGINAL AUSTRALIA | OCCUPATION: NATIVE | ABSOLUTE HISTORY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary, "The Missing History of Aboriginal Australia," offers a crucial corrective to the often one-sided historical narrative presented in Australia. Trisha Morton-Thomas, an Aboriginal filmmaker, compellingly argues that the accepted 247-year historical timeline significantly underrepresents and often distorts the profound and foundational contributions of Aboriginal peoples. The film delves into how Indigenous input has been marginalized, leading to a perception of history that is "devoid of Indigenous input and belittling the enormous contribution Aboriginal people have made to the building of the nation." It serves as a vital platform for reclaiming and reasserting the true depth and significance of Aboriginal history, urging viewers to reconsider the foundations of Australian identity. This is an essential watch for anyone seeking a more complete understanding of the continent's past.
