THE LIGHT TOUCH

Cinemavixion Review

This delightful queer romance, "The Light Touch," offers a refreshing and amusing take on modern love, reminiscent of the nuanced storytelling found in Céline Sciamma's acclaimed works. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Athens, the film introduces us to Becky, a charmingly impish pickpocket whose world is turned upside down when she locks eyes with Miranda. Their budding romance is playfully complicated by a persistent policeman, whose pursuit adds a touch of whimsical, almost slapstick, tension. The direction, credited to Robert MacLean, navigates these elements with a light hand, ensuring the romantic core remains central. While the film garnered significant nominations and wins, its charm lies in its relatable characters and the infectious energy of its central chase. It's a charming exploration of connection and the serendipitous encounters that can define our lives.
