TARGET FASCINATION

Cinemavixion Review

Dominic Pelosi's 2016 film "Target Fascination" delves into the complex and fraught territory of confronting past trauma, offering a thought-provoking, albeit somber, cinematic experience. The narrative centers on a family grappling with the release of their daughter's murderer twenty years after the crime. In a bold and unconventional move, the family seeks to connect with the offender, a process facilitated by a mediator who champions the psychological benefit of 'releasing the real estate' occupied by the perpetrator in their minds. Anchored by a compelling cast including Anne-Louise Lambert, Robin Royce Queree, and Ken Welsh, the film navigates the delicate balance between the desire for closure and the enduring pain of loss. While the film may not shy away from difficult emotional landscapes, its exploration of reconciliation and the psychological aftermath of violence offers a unique perspective that is both challenging and resonant.
