ROOK

Cinemavixion Review

Stephen Morgan's "Rook" plunges viewers into a tense narrative centered around a botched gold heist. The film follows Annie, a bar owner facing financial ruin, who is drawn into a high-stakes robbery by her delinquent brother. The premise promises a blend of crime and family drama, complicated by Annie's relationship with a police officer. However, the heist quickly unravels, leaving Annie, her brother, and their accomplices in a desperate fight for survival against the vengeful backwoods brothers from whom they stole the gold. The story escalates into a thrilling chase, with characters dodging bullets and blades in a desperate bid to escape the consequences of their actions. Despite its potentially compelling setup, the film's execution and reception are not widely documented, making it a lesser-known entry in the crime thriller genre.
