HARBINGER

Cinemavixion Review

Cody Duckworth's "Harbinger" plunges viewers into a disquieting blend of fantasy and eco-thriller, anchored by a compelling performance from its young protagonist. The narrative centers on Mira Gonzaga, whose escalating nightmares become a terrifying premonition of environmental disaster. The film deftly weaves Mira's personal anxieties with the encroaching threat of fracking operations on her family's Texas ranch, creating a palpable sense of dread. Dimitrius Pulido, Tina Rodriguez, and Paeka Campos offer solid support as Mira's family grapples with the unsettling changes around them. While the film may not shy away from its darker themes, it offers a thought-provoking exploration of the connection between our inner turmoil and the health of the natural world, making it a noteworthy, if unsettling, cinematic experience.
