MY SAMURAI

Cinemavixion Review

Fred H. Dresch's "My Samurai" offers a compelling narrative centered on Peter McCrea, a young man thrust into a dangerous world after witnessing a crime. The film adeptly navigates Peter's journey as he seeks protection from his martial arts instructor, Young Park. As they evade both the perpetrators and law enforcement, Peter undergoes a profound transformation, mastering not only the physical discipline of self-defense but also the inner fortitude to confront his escalating fears. Julian Lee and Tupper Cullum deliver performances that anchor the film's emotional core, portraying the dynamic between student and mentor with authenticity. While the film may not boast extensive accolades, its straightforward yet impactful storytelling, focusing on themes of courage and resilience, makes "My Samurai" a noteworthy entry in the action-drama genre, deserving of a closer look.
