KIDS BEHIND BARS: WILL THEY EVER GET FREEDOM?

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the grim reality of juvenile incarceration, posing urgent questions about justice and redemption. It unflinchingly depicts the harrowing conditions faced by children in police custody and prisons worldwide, highlighting systemic failures that lead to inhumane treatment, denial of fair trials, and prolonged detention without charge. The film travels from the USA to India, the UK to Brazil, offering a global perspective on the plight of young offenders. It challenges viewers to consider whether these children are inherently at fault or if they are victims of circumstance, deserving of a second chance. The exploration of their experiences raises critical ethical dilemmas about punishment, rehabilitation, and the very definition of justice for minors.
