EYES BEHIND THE STARS

Cinemavixion Review

Mario Gariazzo's "Eyes Behind the Stars" offers a chilling descent into paranoia, set against the serene backdrop of a forest photoshoot gone awry. The film masterfully builds suspense as a photographer and his model become increasingly aware of an unseen presence. What begins as an unsettling feeling of being watched escalates when developing photographs reveals unsettling, otherworldly figures lurking in the periphery. This Italian horror-mystery, released in 1978, taps into primal fears of the unknown and the uncanny. While the available data suggests a modest reception, the core premise is undeniably effective, promising a viewing experience that lingers long after the credits roll, prompting viewers to question what might be hidden just beyond the frame.
