DELIRIOUS

Cinemavixion Review

Tom DiCillo's "Delirious" offers a raw and unflinching look into the underbelly of celebrity culture and the desperate pursuit of fame. The film masterfully intertwines the lives of Toby, a homeless youth yearning for an acting career; Les, a paparazzo obsessed with making a name for himself; and K'Harma Leeds, a fleeting pop sensation. Michael Pitt delivers a compelling performance as Toby, navigating a world of exploitation and fleeting connections, while Steve Buscemi embodies the opportunistic Les with unsettling precision. Alison Lohman also shines as the enigmatic pop star. With a critical reception that highlights its sharp social commentary and a respectable 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, "Delirious" is a thought-provoking drama that exposes the corrosive nature of the media landscape and the manufactured realities it creates. It's a poignant exploration of aspiration and the often-brutal consequences of chasing the spotlight.
