AT THE FRONTERA

Cinemavixion Review

Ray Gallardo's "At the Frontera" plunges viewers into a gritty world of international crime, blending action with a compelling narrative of moral complexity. The film follows an ATF agent whose investigation into a human trafficking ring unexpectedly entangles him with his own family's dark secrets. This setup promises a tense exploration of loyalty and justice, particularly as the agent finds himself collaborating with a criminal defense attorney to dismantle a powerful syndicate. The performances, particularly from Martin Santander, Gerardo Taracena, and José Sefami, are central to grounding the high-stakes plot in believable human drama. While the film leans into its action sequences, it's the underlying themes of corruption and personal reckoning that resonate, offering a thought-provoking look at the blurred lines between law and lawlessness on the borderlands.
