ZORRO

Cinemavixion Review

This 1975 Italian-French production, also known as 'Zorro', offers a fresh take on the iconic masked vigilante. Directed by Duccio Tessari, the film stars Alain Delon as the titular hero, alongside Stanley Baker and Ottavia Piccolo. Delon embodies the dual nature of the character, portraying both the seemingly weak new governor and the dashing, justice-seeking Zorro with charisma. The plot, set in a Spanish province ripe for corruption, sees the disguised Zorro rallying against the tyrannical Colonel Huerta. While the film may not boast the widespread recognition of some other Zorro adaptations, it presents a solid action-adventure narrative with a touch of political intrigue. The performance by Delon is a key highlight, adding a layer of sophistication to the swashbuckling escapades. It's a worthy entry for fans of the genre looking for a classic, well-executed rendition of the Zorro legend.
