Cinemavixion Review

This four-part documentary series, "World War 0," helmed by director Denis Bespalyi, delves into the often-overlooked Crimean War (1853-1856), presenting it not merely as a regional conflict but as a pivotal struggle for global dominance. The series expands the scope beyond the Crimean peninsula to encompass a vast theater of operations stretching from the Baltic to the Pacific, involving the Russian Empire against an alliance of British, French, Turkish, and Sardinian forces. It seeks to unravel the overt and covert causes of this mid-19th-century confrontation, exploring the Russian Empire's role on the world political stage. The documentary promises a challenging and insightful examination of this 'world war' of its era.
