WOLF GIRL

Cinemavixion Review

Thom Fitzgerald's "Wolf Girl" offers a poignant exploration of identity and societal acceptance, anchored by a compelling performance from Victoria Sanchez as Tara Talbot. Afflicted with hypertrichosis, Tara is thrust into the spectacle of Harley Dune's Travelling Freak Show, her existence defined by the moniker "Terrifying Wolf Girl." Yet, beneath the surface, the film delves into the universal teenage yearning for normalcy and belonging. The narrative skillfully balances the sensationalism of the freak show environment with the intimate struggles of its protagonist. Supported by a solid cast including Shelby Fenner, Shawn Ashmore, and Tony Denman, and benefiting from a production that acknowledges its dramatic and fantastical elements, "Wolf Girl" stands as a thought-provoking character study that encourages empathy and challenges perceptions of difference.
