WITHIN THESE WALLS

Cinemavixion Review

James Adam Tucker's 2015 independent horror film, "Within These Walls," plunges viewers into a suffocating descent into terror and psychological torment. Starring Kelsey Zukowski as Alaina, the film masterfully crafts a narrative of a young woman who inherits not only her deceased mother's house but also a malevolent presence that begins to possess her very being. Zukowski delivers a harrowing performance, capturing Alaina's escalating fear and desperate struggle for survival as an unseen entity invades her mind, body, and soul. The film's strength lies in its claustrophobic atmosphere and its relentless exploration of vulnerability. As Alaina grapples with the loss of her mother and the unreliability of her own perceptions, the audience is drawn into her nightmarish reality. The supporting cast, including Laura Mortensen and horror veteran Felissa Rose, provide a solid foundation for Alaina's solitary ordeal. While the film garnered one award and a modest IMDb rating of 3.0, its chilling premise and Zukowski's committed performance offer a disturbing, albeit bleak, cinematic experience for fans of psychological horror that blurs the lines between grief and supernatural possession.
