WHITETAIL

Cinemavixion Review

Derek Presley's 'Whitetail' plunges into the rugged terrain of West Texas, offering a gritty exploration of a family grappling with grief. The narrative centers on a father, his uncle, and son who seek solace in a hunting trip following the tragic loss of the mother to an overdose. Their attempt to escape their pain in nature takes a dark turn when they stumble upon a wounded man and a backpack brimming with cash. This discovery ignites a tense struggle for survival as the family finds themselves entangled in a dangerous pursuit by unknown criminals seeking the money. The film delves into themes of loss, desperation, and the unexpected consequences that arise from confronting the criminal underworld. While the premise promises a thrilling chase, the execution aims to be a character-driven drama set against the unforgiving landscape.
