WAR OF THE WORLDS 2 - THE NEXT WAVE

Cinemavixion Review

This 2008 science fiction offering, 'War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave,' plunges viewers back into a post-apocalyptic Earth ravaged by an alien threat. Directed by C. Thomas Howell, who also stars, the film picks up the narrative after the initial invasion, with humanity facing a renewed onslaught. The plot emphasizes a desperate struggle for survival and a daring counter-offensive against the extraterrestrial invaders, promising a blend of action and suspense. While the film may not reach the heights of its cinematic predecessors, it presents a familiar yet engaging scenario for fans of alien invasion narratives. The critical reception, as indicated by its IMDb rating, suggests a niche appeal, but for those seeking a straightforward sci-fi thriller, 'The Next Wave' offers a continuation of the alien conflict, exploring the resilience of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming odds.
