UNRAVELING THE VIOLENT TRUTH BEHIND CLASSICAL MYTHOLOGY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the surprisingly violent origins of classical mythology and folklore. It posits that the constant presence of war and conflict in human history is reflected in the foundational stories that shape a society's values and identity. The narrative traces a compelling through-line from the epic tales of the Trojan War and the foundational myth of Romulus and Remus, through the fierce sagas of the Vikings and Valkyries, to the historical brutality of Vlad the Impaler. By examining these narratives, the film suggests that understanding these violent roots is key to comprehending the enduring narratives that have influenced leaders like Alexander the Great and continue to resonate today. It's a thought-provoking exploration of how conflict is woven into the very fabric of our cultural heritage.
