UNDER THE GUN

Cinemavixion Review

Matthew George's "Under the Gun" plunges viewers into the gritty underworld of club ownership, where a desperate owner, Frank Torrance, finds himself entangled in a dangerous web of debt. Portrayed with a palpable sense of urgency by Richard Norton, Torrance must navigate treacherous waters, fending off not only ruthless drug dealers and hitmen but also a full-blown gun battle, all before he can escape the life that haunts him. The film, released in 1995, is a lean, mean action thriller that delivers on its premise, fueled by the kinetic performances of Kathy Long and Jane Badler, who add further layers to this high-stakes narrative. While the plot delves into the grim realities of Frank's predicament, it offers a compelling, if brutal, look at the consequences of trying to leave a life of crime behind.
