UNDER HIS CONTROL

Cinemavixion Review

Andrée M Harris's "Under His Control" offers a poignant exploration of a relationship's descent into emotional subjugation. The narrative centers on Destiny Young, whose initial infatuation with Corey Fleming blossoms into a marriage that swiftly becomes a cage. Katrina Allen delivers a compelling performance as Destiny, masterfully portraying her transformation from a vibrant individual to a woman crushed by the weight of her husband's ego. The film sensitively handles the psychological toll of emotional abuse, showcasing how unchecked narcissism can systematically dismantle a partner's spirit and aspirations. While the external data notes "1 win & 1 nomination," the film's true merit lies in its unflinching portrayal of a common, yet devastating, relational dynamic. "Under His Control" serves as a stark reminder of the importance of self-worth and the insidious nature of control within intimate partnerships.
