THICK

Cinemavixion Review

A.M. Greene's 'Thick' plunges viewers into the gritty reality of Theresa James, a formidable figure navigating the precarious landscape of illicit enterprises and burgeoning real estate in the wake of the 2010 recession. The film masterfully portrays the complex interplay between professional ambition and personal downfall as Theresa's criminal empire begins to fracture from within. The narrative tension escalates as her employees, bound by loyalty and fear, seek an escape route, forcing Theresa to confront the crumbling foundations of her underworld dominion. Bolstered by a compelling performance from Jamyra Alexander Jordan, 'Thick' is a taut crime drama that delves into themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of power in a world constantly reshaped by economic instability. Its grounded portrayal of ambition and its consequences offers a compelling cinematic experience.
