THE WAITING GAME

Cinemavixion Review

Ken Liotti's "The Waiting Game" offers a slice-of-life look into the precarious world of aspiring actors navigating the service industry in New York City. Set in a bustling restaurant, the film captures the camaraderie and frustrations of a group of young artists juggling dream-chasing with the daily grind of waiting tables. While the ensemble cast, notably featuring a young Will Arnett, brings authenticity to their roles, the film's narrative, as suggested by its modest box office performance and mixed critical reception, struggles to fully coalesce. Despite its 4 wins, the "comedy love story" aspect may feel underdeveloped to some, with a Metascore of 34 and an IMDb rating of 5.1 indicating a divisive viewing experience. Nevertheless, for those interested in the struggles of creative individuals in the urban jungle, "The Waiting Game" provides a relatable, albeit imperfect, portrayal.
