THE RAVINE

Cinemavixion Review

Keoni Waxman's "The Ravine" delves into the dark underbelly of a seemingly peaceful community, shattered by an unspeakable crime. Inspired by true events, the film centers on Mitch (Eric Dane), a devout family man whose alleged actions cast a pall over his loved ones and neighbors. As his best friend Tony attempts to piece together the truth, the narrative unravels a complex tapestry of grief, suspicion, and hidden secrets. Eric Dane delivers a compelling performance, navigating the moral ambiguities of his character with intensity. Teri Polo and Leslie Uggams provide strong supporting turns, grounding the emotional weight of the story. While the film's grim subject matter and pacing might test some viewers, its exploration of fractured trust and the devastating impact of violence on a close-knit town offers a thought-provoking, if somber, cinematic experience.
