THE PEANUT BUTTER SOLUTION

Cinemavixion Review

Michael Rubbo's "The Peanut Butter Solution" is a whimsical Canadian fantasy film that taps into childhood anxieties with a delightfully absurd premise. When young Michael, played with earnestness by Mathew Mackay, loses his hair due to a fright, he turns to a magical peanut butter potion concocted by two spectral guides. The film cleverly blends the surreal with the relatable, exploring themes of self-image and the consequences of extreme solutions. While the visual effects are charmingly of their era, the narrative's imaginative spirit shines through. The supporting cast, including Siluck Saysanasy and Alison Darcy, ably navigate the film's unique tone. Despite its modest production, "The Peanut Butter Solution" offers a peculiar yet endearing adventure, a testament to creative storytelling that lingers in the mind, much like the stickiness of its titular ingredient.
