THE NIGHT DEVOURS

Cinemavixion Review

Jason Hawkins' "The Night Devours" plunges viewers into a chilling found footage experience, reminiscent of unsettling psychological horror fare like "The Taking of Deborah Logan" and "Hell House LLC." This 2024 release, also directed by Hawkins, presents itself as a haunting descent into the psyche of a man grappling with his past. Through a series of confessional recordings, an aging individual unspools a narrative that blurs the lines between memory, myth, and encroaching madness. The film excels as an eerie character study, weaving a mystery that probes the depths of the human mind. While the external data suggests a plot centered on a serial killer confronting his mortality, the local data frames it as a broader exploration of a disturbing life story. Regardless of the precise interpretation, "The Night Devours" promises a surreal and unforgettable journey into darkness, questioning the very nature of reality as the protagonist's confessions become increasingly surreal and terrifying.
