THE MYSTERY OF KING HEROD'S AGONIZING DEATH

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the enigmatic and gruesome demise of Herod, the formidable ruler of first-century Palestine. Known for his brilliance and ruthlessness, Herod's end was as spectacular as his reign, marked by a horrifying physical decay described as worms emerging from his flesh even before his final breath. The film, presented by Odyssey, promises an exploration into the ancient world, specifically focusing on the mysteries and remnants of civilizations long past. While the specific historical context and Herod's reign are central, the narrative also serves as an entry point into Odyssey's broader mission: to illuminate the captivating, often brutal, realities of ancient history, from the earliest Mesopotamian societies to the eventual collapse of the Roman Empire. It's an invitation to uncover the lost worlds and the compelling, often unsettling, stories they hold.
