THE MONKEY TURF WARS ON OUR STREETS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges viewers into the opulent yet precarious world of a luxury golfing estate in South Africa, revealing the surprising lives of its Vervet Monkey inhabitants. Presented as a microcosm of territorial conflict, the narrative unfolds as an established monkey troop, living a seemingly idyllic existence, faces an invasion. The arrival of the 'Sugar Cane Gang' threatens their established order, setting the stage for an intense battle for survival and dominance over their prized territory. The film compellingly captures the raw instincts and complex social dynamics at play, transforming a seemingly peaceful environment into a dramatic arena. It's a fascinating, albeit brief, glimpse into the often-unseen struggles for resources and home that occur just beyond human perception.
