THE GENDER CARD FLIP

Cinemavixion Review

In "The Gender Card Flip," director Michael Cross presents a thought-provoking, albeit fantastical, premise. The film explores themes of empathy and societal expectation when mayoral candidate Amanda, portrayed by Collette Wolfe, stumbles upon a magical mirror. This artifact allows her to swap the gender roles within her town, placing her in direct opposition to her rival, Bret (Sam Huntington). As they navigate the complexities and challenges of each other's lives, the narrative poses an intriguing question: which reality truly holds more value? The film cleverly uses its central conceit to examine ingrained biases and the differing experiences faced by men and women, prompting reflection on the societal constructs we often take for granted. The supporting cast, including Carollani Sandberg, adds depth to this unique exploration of identity and perspective.
