THE FAST ATTACK SPEEDBOATS THAT WAGED WAR IN THE COASTS OF WW2

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges viewers into the often-overlooked naval skirmishes of World War II, focusing on the vital role of fast attack speedboats. It masterfully illustrates how these agile vessels, armed with devastating torpedoes and machine guns, challenged the dominance of larger warships. The narrative vividly recounts the intense battles waged across crucial waterways like the English Channel and North Sea, highlighting daring raids in Norway and the brutal island campaigns in the Pacific theater. Beyond the speedboats, the film also provides a compelling look at the evolution of the machine gun, tracing its transformation from a static WWI weapon to a dynamic force in land, air, and tank warfare, ultimately shaping the fluid tactics of the Blitzkrieg. The exploration of submachine guns in brutal urban combat and the advent of assault rifles offers a comprehensive perspective on the changing face of 20th-century conflict.
