NAZI COLLABORATORS: UNMASKING WW2'S MOST DESPISED TRAITORS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the morally complex landscape of World War II, focusing on the harrowing choices made by individuals in occupied territories. It meticulously examines the motivations and actions of collaborators like Anton Mussert in the Netherlands and Ioannis Rallis in Greece, figures who navigated treacherous alliances with Nazi Germany. The narrative questions whether their choices stemmed from naivete, inherent malevolence, or a desperate pursuit of power. Furthermore, the episode sheds light on the controversial pact between Finnish Marshal Gustaf Mannerheim and Hitler, a strategic alliance born from the existential threat of the Soviet Union. The series also investigates the formation and actions of the Schutzmannschaft in the Baltic states and Soviet Union, comprised of nationals who aided the Nazi regime, often at the cost of their own countrymen. This exploration offers a critical perspective on betrayal, survival, and the devastating human toll of collaboration during wartime.
