THE DEVIL AND THE DAYLONG BROTHERS

Cinemavixion Review

Brandon McCormick's "The Devil and the Daylong Brothers" emerges from the kudzu-choked backwaters of the American South as a peculiar and ambitious blend of action and musical. Set for a 2025 release, the film chronicles the grim quest of three brothers, portrayed by Brendan Bradley, Nican Robinson, and Jordon Bolden, who are driven to reclaim their souls, a price paid by their father to the Devil before their birth. The narrative plunges into a blood-soaked pursuit of vengeance, with the brothers hunting the wicked across the South. McCormick, who also co-wrote the screenplay, crafts a tale that is as dark as it is operatic, promising a unique cinematic experience that attempts to marry the visceral thrill of a revenge saga with the expressive power of musical numbers. While details on awards and box office are yet to be determined, the film's intriguing premise and its unusual genre fusion mark it as a noteworthy entry for those seeking unconventional storytelling.
