THE DEBT

Cinemavixion Review

Oliver's Deal, directed by Barney Elliott and released in 2015, is a taut political drama that plunges viewers into the high-stakes world of international finance. Starring Stephen Dorff, David Strathairn, and Brooke Langton, the film intricately weaves a narrative set against the bustling backdrop of New York and the stark landscapes of Peru. It masterfully explores the moral ambiguities and extreme measures individuals might resort to in pursuit of their ambitions. While it garnered a respectable 6.1 on IMDb and a mixed 44% on Rotten Tomatoes, its 6 wins and 1 nomination suggest a critical reception that acknowledged its thematic depth and dramatic tension. The film's exploration of greed and power dynamics, set within a complex global financial framework, makes it a compelling watch for those interested in the darker side of ambition.
