THE COLD KILLER

Cinemavixion Review

Guido Celano's "The Cold Killer" (1967) plunges viewers into a dark narrative of vengeance, centered on José Desman's act of retribution against Mr. Salazar, a judge whose past rulings led to Desman's father's downfall. The film, characterized by its stark portrayal of justice and its consequences, features compelling performances from Bruno Piergentili, Rita Ferrel, and Lillian Faber. While its Italian Western roots suggest a certain gritty aesthetic, the core of the story lies in its exploration of familial duty and the cyclical nature of violence. "The Cold Killer" offers a potent, albeit grim, reflection on the lengths one might go to settle a score, making it a noteworthy, if somber, addition to its genre.
