THE CHURCH: CODE OF SILENCE

Cinemavixion Review

This unflinching documentary, 'The Church: Code of Silence,' plunges into the harrowing depths of institutional complicity, exposing the systemic mechanisms employed by church officials to shield predatory priests. Through meticulous investigation and the revelation of sensitive internal documents, the film traces a disturbing pattern of 'geographical solutions' that moved accused individuals across continents, often to Africa, in a desperate attempt to evade justice. The narrative bravely confronts allegations implicating even high-ranking figures, including Pope Francis, during his tenure as bishop of Buenos Aires. Martin Boudot's direction guides viewers through a complex web of deception, from Cameroon to Argentina, and across Europe and America, presenting a damning indictment of a decades-long cover-up. This is essential viewing for understanding the profound impact of these actions and the ongoing struggle for accountability within the Catholic Church.
