EXPOSING THE CHURCH’S DARKEST SECRETS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the disturbing narrative of Bishop Peter Ball, a figure who wielded significant influence within the Church of England and whose abuse of power cast a long shadow. The film bravely gives voice to survivors, most notably Neil Todd, whose courageous testimony served as a catalyst for exposing the systemic failures and cover-ups that protected perpetrators over victims. It meticulously details the harrowing journey from Ball's predatory actions to the arduous legal battles, including the crucial Operation Dunhill, that eventually led to his justice. Beyond the individual tragedy, the documentary critically examines the Church's institutional response, questioning how such abuse could persist and how the hierarchy prioritized its reputation. A vital, albeit difficult, watch that underscores the importance of accountability and the enduring fight for justice for those silenced for too long.
