THE CEREMONY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN

Cinemavixion Review

Sean Nichols Lynch's "The Ceremony Is About to Begin" plunges viewers into a disquieting exploration of belief and obsession. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of escalating dread as a documentary filmmaker ventures into the heart of an enigmatic, ancient Egyptian-inspired cult. What begins as an investigative endeavor quickly devolves into a descent into madness, mayhem, and disturbing mummification rites, as the cult's leader exerts an increasingly sinister influence. Despite its niche subject matter, the film has garnered significant critical attention, boasting a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes and a respectable 5.7/10 on IMDb. With a runtime of 70 minutes, Lynch delivers a taut and unsettling narrative that lingers long after the credits roll. "The Ceremony Is About to Begin" is a compelling watch for those intrigued by the darker facets of human psychology and the allure of fringe communities.
