THE BIG SHAKEDOWN

Cinemavixion Review

Harry Fraser's "The Big Shakedown" presents a taut narrative centered on a photograph that could derail a public servant's career. The intrigue escalates as Councilman Craig Kennedy finds himself ensnared in a scandal, with his professional life hanging precariously in the balance. The film skillfully navigates the complexities of political integrity and public perception, introducing a compelling element of photographic manipulation. As Kennedy's world unravels, the story pivots to the innovative work of a photographer who employs experimental techniques to uncover the truth. This B-movie gem, despite its age, offers a compelling glimpse into the power of imagery and the lengths to which individuals will go to protect their reputation, making for a surprisingly engaging watch.
