THE AMITYVILLE HAUNTING

Cinemavixion Review

Geoff Meed's "The Amityville Haunting" plunges viewers into the chilling depths of found-footage horror, presenting itself as actual recovered film documenting a family's descent into terror within a notoriously haunted residence. The narrative centers on the Benson family, who dare to inhabit the infamous house where a horrific massacre once occurred. As the film progresses, unsettling events plague anyone who enters, and the retrieved footage captures the escalating dread. While the film's IMDb rating of 2.6/10 suggests a challenging reception, its commitment to the found-footage aesthetic and the inherent suspense of its premise may appeal to fans of the genre seeking raw, unvarnished scares. The inclusion of Devin Clark in the cast adds a touch of continuity for those familiar with the production. It's a grim exploration of a haunted space, relying on atmosphere and the inherent unease of its format.
