STINGER

Cinemavixion Review

Martin Munthe's 2005 film 'Stinger' plunges viewers into the claustrophobic depths of a military submarine, where a routine salvage mission spirals into a desperate fight for survival. The narrative expertly builds suspense as a specialized team is dispatched to recover the lost USS Newark, only to discover its interior harbors a terrifying secret: mutated scorpions, the result of a clandestine military experiment. The film effectively blends elements of sci-fi horror and action, creating a palpable sense of dread as the crew grapples with an unseen, venomous threat. While perhaps not reaching the heights of blockbuster fare, 'Stinger' offers a compelling B-movie thrill, anchored by its intriguing premise and the relentless tension of its underwater setting. It's a creature feature that delivers on its promise of primal fear and contained action.
