STEALING AFRICA | THE AID SCAM | THE DIRTY MATH OF ‘HELPING’ AFRICA

Cinemavixion Review

Christoffer Guldbrandsen's "Stealing Africa | The Aid Scam | The Dirty Math of ‘Helping’ Africa" is a stark and illuminating documentary that dissects the complex economic realities plaguing the African continent. Despite its immense natural wealth, Africa's resources continue to be siphoned off, perpetuating cycles of poverty long after the era of formal colonialism. The film masterfully employs Zambia as a case study, highlighting the profound disconnect between its vast copper reserves and the daily struggles of its populace. Guldbrandsen meticulously details how multinational corporations, aided by global tax havens and exploitative trade systems, legally extract billions while contributing negligible tax revenue. The documentary's investigation into transfer pricing and offshore shell companies reveals a sophisticated architecture of plunder, demonstrating how for every dollar in aid received, ten dollars are lost. "Stealing Africa" is a vital exposé on power, inequality, and the urgent need for accountability in global financial flows.
