SCOURGE

Cinemavixion Review

Jonas Quastel's 'Scourge' plunges viewers into a small town besieged by an ancient, resurrected pestilence. The film masterfully intertwines a terrifying outbreak narrative with the rekindling of a past romance between the young protagonists, Scott and Jessie. As the contagion spreads, turning their once-serene community into a landscape of fear, their personal journey becomes a compelling subplot, adding emotional depth to the escalating horror. The performances of Russell Ferrier and Robyn Ledoux anchor the film, portraying a believable chemistry amidst the chaos. While the film may not boast major accolades, its effective blend of creature feature elements and human drama offers a tense and engaging experience, highlighting resilience in the face of overwhelming adversity.
