SAFARI, WITCHCRAFT & MURDER IN AFRICA: TRUE STORIES

Cinemavixion Review

This compelling documentary plunges viewers into the heart of the Central African Republic, a land of breathtaking wilderness and simmering conflict. It chronicles the unsettling true story of David Simpson, a young pilot who traded a pastoral English life for the allure of an exclusive safari operation. The narrative masterfully contrasts the pristine beauty of the African bush with the escalating tensions between the safari company and local populations driven by illegal gold mining. As the film unfolds, the audience is drawn into a gripping mystery surrounding the massacre of thirteen men at a gold mine, and the subsequent arrest and imprisonment of Simpson and his boss. The documentary raises profound questions about justice, cultural clashes, and the complex realities of life in a region plagued by unrest, leaving a lasting impression of the unpredictable nature of human endeavors in remote corners of the world.
