REVISITANT

Cinemavixion Review

Jon Binkowski's 2019 horror film "ReVisitant" plunges into the terrifying concept of a malevolent entity that possesses individuals, spreading like a contagion. The narrative centers on Maya, a woman haunted by a past encounter with the spirit that claimed her best friend. Determined to break the cycle, Maya isolates herself, but an accidental touch reawakens the terror, passing the entity to her neighbor, Leslie, and subsequently her teenage daughters, Amanda and Sarah. The film escalates into a supernatural battle as Leslie and Amanda, aided by others who have encountered the entity, strive to save Sarah and uncover the dark origins of the Visitant. While the film received 7 wins and 6 nominations, its IMDb rating of 4.3/10 suggests a mixed reception, yet it offers a compelling exploration of inherited trauma and the fight against an insidious, persistent evil.
