REDNECK COUNTY FEVER

Cinemavixion Review

"Redneck County Fever" plunges viewers into a rural American setting where a simple car breakdown transforms into a descent into a peculiar local economy. The narrative follows two college students, Fred and Lowry, whose holiday plans are derailed, forcing them into an uneasy alliance with a local figure known as Big Bad Bob. While the film's premise offers a glimpse into the challenges of being stranded in unfamiliar territory, the execution, as suggested by its limited runtime and critical reception, leans into a specific, perhaps niche, brand of backwoods storytelling. Gary Kennamer's direction attempts to capture the essence of this isolated community, with J.P. Black anchoring the cast. It's a film that explores themes of desperation and local entanglement, offering a raw, unvarnished look at a community where business propositions take an unconventional turn.
