PRINCE OF SPACE

Cinemavixion Review

A relic of a bygone era of science fiction, 'Prince of Space' (1959) plunges viewers into a cosmic conflict between Earth and the chicken-like invaders from Krankor. While the local data offers a concise premise of impending doom and a heroic defense, the external data enriches this by detailing the alien leader Phantom and the enigmatic Prince of Space, a hero with an alter ego. The film, a Japanese production helmed by Eijirô Wakabayashi, presents a campy yet earnest battle for survival, complete with peculiar alien weaponry and the promise of a "Giant." Despite its low IMDb rating, the film is a fascinating artifact of 1950s B-movie sci-fi, offering a unique, if rudimentary, vision of intergalactic warfare and a testament to the enduring appeal of the underdog hero.
