LASERBLAST

Cinemavixion Review

Michael Rae's "Laserblast" plunges viewers into the gritty landscape of the California desert, where a discarded alien weapon becomes the catalyst for a teenager's terrifying transformation. The film, released in 1978, offers a unique blend of science fiction and horror, exploring themes of power, mutation, and alienation. While its critical reception may be modest, as indicated by its IMDb rating, "Laserblast" stands as a cult classic for its inventive premise and the unsettling portrayal of its mutated protagonist. Kim Milford, Cheryl Smith, and Gianni Russo deliver performances that capture the film's B-movie charm and inherent darkness. It's a curious piece of cinema that delves into the consequences of unchecked alien technology falling into the wrong hands, resulting in a creature feature that continues to fascinate genre enthusiasts.
